Strategic Leadership Seminar
















The Office of Student Personnel Services held their Annual Leadership Training Seminar last September 11 and 12, 2010 at the Magnificat Center. This year's theme was "Developing New Breed of Student Leaders". The Resource Speaker was Dr. Donato B. Bumacas, the CARES Director of CIC facilitated by Paul John Fajardo and Don Mark Aquino. 87% of clubs/organization or a total of 64 student leaders participated in the said seminar. The program started with an opening prayer led by the Student Catholic Action officers followed by the Opening Remarks from Mrs. Maria Merlina R. Mariano, Head of OSPS. Rev. Fr. Richmond V. Nilo, Ed. D., CIC President gave an inspirational leadership message to the participants.

Last July 29, 2010 at the HRM Lobby, the first screening interview for Ayala Young Leaders participants was conducted by the Office of Student Personnel Services. Mr. Jeffrey Benitez, college faculty and Michael Vincent Tamayo, CSSC Peace officer and CIC-AYL Alumni helped Ms. Marilou A. Mauricio to organize the said activity. Ten (10) 3rd year student leaders from the college department were interviewd by 4 panelists namely Rev. Fr. Joseph Azarcon, CFP Director, Dr. Estrella S. Cuaresma, Dean of Institute of Health Sciences, Mrs. Ma. Blesilda H. Agapito, Dean of Institute of Higher Studies and Dr. Annalie Mananquil, college faculty.

Club Launching

The Office of the Student Personnel Services launched the different Clubs and Organizations last July 8, 2010. The program started with a Holy Mass at 9:00a.m. at the Chapel celebrated by Rev. Fr. Joseph B. Azarcon. The program continued at the Magnificat Center with the singing of the National Anthem conducted by Ms. Divine Saldivar, ABMC-4 followed by the Opening Remarks of Mrs. Maria Merlina R. Mariano, Head of the Office of the Student Personnel Services. Dr. Milagros B. Cortez, Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Ms. Marilou A. Mauricio, Student Activity Coordinator led the oathtaking of all officers of the different clubs and organizations. After the oath-taking, Mr. Marion Christopher Legacion, the former Vice-President of College Student Supreme Council (CSSC) transfer the Key of Responsibility to Mr. Niño Pocholo Yamsuan, the new President of College Student Supreme Council (CSSC).
The second part of the program started with an opening number coming from the 3 Student Councils (CSSC, CISC-Higher Studies and CISC-Health Sciences). Then all Clubs/Organizations had their own presentations. Presidents or Advisers of each club campaign their club before their performances. After the presentation, Muses and Escorts of each club wearing their club shirt ramped in front of the students. Mr. and Ms. Club Shirt and Darling of the Crowds were also awarded. Dr. Annalie Mananquil, Mr. Louie Jimenez and Mr. Jeffrey San Pedro judged the pageant. After the awarding of winners, students registered in the Clubs/Organizations of their own choice. Mr. Rambert Pascual and Mr. Marwin Pascual emceed the said event.

CSSC and CISC Elections Held

The Office of the Student Activity held the CSSC (College Student Supreme Council) and CISC (College Institute Student Council) ELECTION last February 19, 2010. This is the first time that Elections were held simultaneously when the Guidelines for Student Council Elections were revised last School year 2008-2009. The campaign period started last February 9-16, 2010. The Meeting de Avance was held last February 18, 2010 at the Magnificat Center.

The competing parties who joined this year's elections were from A.L.I.A.S. (Association of Leaders in Achieving Success), T.E.A.M.( Together Everyone Achieve More) and BATANG A.L.I.A.S.(Bagong Tatak ng Association of Leaders in Achieving Success.

CSSC spearheaded CANDIDATES' FORUM


College Student Supreme Council (CSSC) spearheaded "CANDIDATES' FORUM" last February 22, 2010 from 9:00am to 11:00am at the Magnificat Center of the College. This activity aimed to educate our young voters and create awareness on their social responsibility towards the forthcoming election this May 2010.

This is the first time that candidates for Governors and Vice Governors of the Province are gathered for a forum. Hon. Gov. Aurelio "Oyie" Umali, running mate GP Padiernos (Unang Sigaw Partido sa Pagbabago) and Vice Gov. Edward Thomas Joson and Senior Board Member Rommel Padilla (BALANE- Bagong Lakas ng Nueva Ecija Party) were the guests during the said forum. Questions with regards to social concerns and issues of the Province were raised to the candidates and at the same time the students and some teachers were given the opportunity to ask questions to the candidates. Atty. Angela Esquivel, Senior partner of the Rodriguez and Partners Law office and Ms. Joceli Julia Embuscado- English Coordinator of the High School Department were the moderators.


Our President of CIC, Rev. Fr. Richmond V. Nilo invited several schools in Cabanatuan City to participate in the said event. Students who participated were from PMTC, Gloria Lacson College, Araullo University, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, Good Samaritan College and ELJ Memorial School (Eduardo L. Joson). Other politicians and members of the different sectors of Cabanatuan City also graced the occasion.

The Office provides a program of activities for the total formation of students. Its programs enhance leadership skills of students to become responsible and effective Christian leaders; it fosters harmonious relationships among and between students, faculty and administration.
